A Taiping guy personal rants and Malaysia Food blog
Last Sunday which was 21th December 2008 was Dong Zi or Tang Yuan Festival. They said after we ate Tang Yuan then we’ll be growing 1 year old, so I’m 21 years old now! Haha I’m still young right? I was in my hometown, Taiping last week from Thursday until Sunday. So, my lovely mum and I made Tang Yuan together at Saturday night so that we can ate it on Sunday morning.
First, my mum cook a bowl of water with pandan leaves, then put some sugar to make it sweet. Then she put the flour on the plate, mixed it with the sugar water just now. Then she started to twist it until it became solid.

* It’s only one part of the “solid flour” that had been twisted.
After twisting it for about 30mins, we started to make the Tang Yuan in sphere shape.

* That was the sugar water, we need to use that when the flour became dry and I can’t make the flour in sphere shape.
By the way we were making the flour in Tang Yuan shape, we watched TV too. There was a Korean Movie that time, it was talking about a 200 Pound’s Lady’s Love Story, a very touching love story! After about half an hour, we had done all the Tang Yuan.

* All the Tang Yuan was done! There was small Tang Yuan and big Tang Yuan, my mum said got small got big, a very good sign! haha!

* My hand full of flour haha! Just the middle of my hand was clean!
All the Tang Yuan had done but I had to wait until Sunday morning only can ate.
…..1am…3am…4am…5am…7am…9am !
Ta Dang! It was Sunday morning haha! I ate 1 bowl of Tang Yuan and my mum gave me 1 cup and asked me brought back to KL. We just made red colour Tang Yuan only, we never made Tang Yuan in any other colour, we only love RED! Haha! Chinese New Year is coming soon, so everything must be in RED okay?

* Red Tang Yuan
So how about you? Did you make Tang Yuan yourself with your mum or you bought it?
