This blog has never been updated for months and it’s time for me to hunt for more foods again. In fact, I have few more posts in my local disk folder, so I will need to write 1 by 1. I always had my lunch and dinner at Uptown, Damansara Utama, that is a place that fit with various restaurant and food stall, you may need to take few days or weeks to test all the foods over there. Last weekend, I came across Uptown and found a some sort like kopitiam named TC Toast & Coffee, I had my lunch over there.

TC Toast & Coffee is a modern-traditional coffeehouse located at Damansara Uptown that serves authentic local delicacies. Surrounds by thick aroma of toast bread and brewed-coffee, the TC Toast & Coffee becomes a meeting point for toast and coffee lovers. For frequent patrons of TC Toast & Coffee, the taste of coffee and tea make by the Coffee Master is the reason of their visits; a taste which rekindles the olden days. TC Toast & Coffee is made famous by its Nasi Lemak and Nasi Kunyit, special recipes that originated from Mak Zara in Pahang since 1930s. Since its opening, TC Toast & Coffee is gaining popularity amongst residents in uptown area and food lovers from all over the countries for they are after the quality of foods serves here.

* Curry Mee – a must try, thick curry soup with generous cockles.

* Nasi Kunyit Ayam Rendang – serves hot and wrap in a banana leaf.

* Breakfast – worth trying at a very reasonable price.

* Nasi Lemak – is one of the top selling items in TC, you have to come early during lunch time before it’s all sold out.

* Mee Siam Combo – all time favorite.

* Coffee – Unlike other similiar concept kopitiam, this has got an experienced sifu who makes the drinks. You may even request him to make you a ‘30 year old tea’ (tea that tastes in the 70s).

TC Toast & Coffee serves a variety of Malaysian and fusion foods. Unlike other kopitiam, this gives a warmth yet cosy feeling as i first stepped in. An eye catching site was the coffee bar, a place where you get to see how the coffee and toast being prepared. Food here are prepare at the kitchen as you ordered, there’s no heating up of food or pre-cooked stuff, that’s why you get to taste the original taste of it. And the price, are extremely reasonable, you hardly get this in similar kopitiam.

At the Valentine Day, my gf and I were making the Valentine Dark Chocolate together as a Valentine gift for each other, it was the best gift ever...

I’ve been leaving my food blog for about a month due to my heavy workload, I think it’s time to update and blogging about food again. At the Valentine Day few months ago, my gf and I didn’t know how to celebrate and what to give each other, so end up we decided to make chocolate for each other, so we made the chocolate together at her house, that was the best Valentine Day Present, right?

There a few steps need to be followed to do this home made chocolate. Before these, preparing all these ingredients before you get started : Dark cooking chocolate, white cooking chocolate, Whisky, hazelnut, and mould. You can actually buy these all at the cake and biscuit ingredient shop. So now we can start to do this Valentine Home Made Dark Chocolate.

* Dark Cooking Chocolate – My gf told me that this type of chocolate can’t be eaten before it melts, do you have any idea?

* White Cooking Chocolate

* Whisky – Add a little bit of whisky into the chocolate could make its’ taste better.

* Hazelnut & …

* Cut the dark cooking chocolate into small pieces a put it into the steel bowl and put the steel bowl into hot water. It’s to melt the dark chocolate to liquid.

* Melting process. Use a spoon and keep stir it.

* Keep stir it non-stop until it becomes liquid.

* The dark chocolate is in liquid right now.

* Mix the liquid dark chocolate with white chocolate because we worried that the dark chocolate was too bitter. You can skip this step if you want a pure dark chocolate taste.

* Stir it non-stop until it melts…

* It’s done now, the mixture of dark and white chocolate is in liquid now.

* Add some whisky into the liquid chocolate, add more if you love the strong taste of whisky with the chocolate.

* So you can now fill the chocolate into the mould that has been prepared earlier. You can take whatever shape of mould that you like. Remember not to fill it until full, just fill half of the mould because we still want to put in the hazelnut. You can change it to peanut, fruit, whisky or whatever things you like.

* That is how it’s looked like, please ignore the dirty part besides the mould.

* Now put the hazelnut into a bowl and mix it with some chocolate, so that it can stick with the half chocolate. If you don’t do so, after you’ve filled in the upper part, the hazelnut will be floating to the surface of chocolate.

* Put 1 hazelnut in each of the mould. After this, put it into the fridge for 10-15 minutes to make it solid. Now continue with the second mould, the same steps as above.

* So I fill the chocolate into the 2nd mould. Remember, follow the steps as above.

* The chocolate is not enough to fill into the mould, so just leave it like this. It was considered a completed chocolate, it was done by me!

* This is the first mould of chocolate, it was took out after 10-15minutes from the fridge and fill in with the upper part. It was done by my gf!

P/s : Not to stop the stir process, keep changing the hot water so that the chocolate can be staying in liquid style. That’s mean you might need 2 persons to make this chocolate, so make it with your love 1 in Valentine Day is the best time ever!

After the chocolate had been filled in with the upper part, all of them had been put into the fridge for few hours for better taste. I’d eaten the chocolate, it was too big because of the mould, in fact the mould was used for making jelly. But, the taste was good and it was full of LOVE!

Have you made any chocolate together with your love 1 before?

That’s a new western restaurant nearby my working area, sometimes I’m feeling exhaust and boring in thinking what to eat during lunch time, I’ve been working in my current company for 4 years already and I almost tried all the restaurants and foods nearby my office. Since there is a new western food restaurant named Vary Pasta, so we gave it a try. The restaurant looks clean, and tidy, it gave me a feel of comfortable when I first stepped in the restaurant. After a tired working morning, of course we must had our lunch in comfortable environment. The waitress and waiter in the restaurant are friendly too.

The restaurant serves western foods, such as sausage, salad, chop, steak, pasta, soup and etc. This was my first time having lunch there, so I can ordered whatever food. So the waitress recommended us their set lunch, a worthy set lunch. There was 2 or 3 set lunch, I picked one of them. The set lunch contained of one main course (Chicken chop with spaghetti, spaghetti carbonara with chicken ham or pan fried fish fillet with butter rice) , one appetizer (Salad or Soup), ice cream and drinks (Herbal tea or Barley). So I’d chosen Chicken Chop with Spaghetti as my main course, salad as my appetizer, barley ice as my drinks and ice cream.

* Chicken Chop with Spaghetti – I do recommend this to you all, the chicken chop is very nice, I didn’t know what is the source, slightly salty, good taste! The spaghetti had been fried with garlic, you can eat this with the sauce of chicken chop, very delicious!

* Salad – Normal salad which you can eat everywhere. This salad was fresh!

* Carrot Soup – Felt weird, first time drank carrot soup. It was my gf set but she didn’t want to drink it, so I drank it.

* Ice Cream – Not Baskin Robbin or Haagen Dazs okay? lol!

Tasty & Cheapest Western Food In Town! (*Not bad la…)

The foods were good, the price was cheap too. It was only RM12.50 for the set lunch for main course, appetizer, ice cream and drinks, no service charge or government tax, worth it? Definitely we will go again next time, I do recommend you to try as well. The restaurant is located behind the Hoong Kee Dim Sum Restaurant, or besides a Japanese Restaurant, it’s at corner lot, can be found easily.

Sometimes I didn’t know what else I can had for my lunch because I’d tried all the restaurant nearby my office, so I always repeated and ate the same thing. But Tin Kee Duck Rice stall in Kun Kee Kopitiam was what I always ate for my lunch. That’s one of my favourite duck rice and char siew rice. I rarely ate in the Kopitiam, usually I just took away and ate in the office. Usually I ate duck mix with char siew rice, I love the crispy duck skin and the taste of the char siew. Besides these, the sauce especially for char siew is definitely delicious! They also sell chicken rice, but the famous one is duck and char siew. It should be a Hong Kong style duck rice, I just love it.

* Duck and Char Siew Rice – It was what I always ordered. The duck skin is very crispy and the char siew very good taste. Recommended and I rate it 9/10!

* Duck Sauce & Char Siew Sauce – Normally I will ask the boss to give me more char siew sauce, I took char siew sauce only even though I buy duck rice. The char siew sauce is a little bit sticky and sweet, remember ask them to give you char siew sauce, you’ll regret without trying this.

I’m drooling while writing this post. I believe that you know how good is the food that I mentioned.

The boss is very friendly and the food served very fast too. I ordered and took away, it took me less than 3 minutes including order. It’s not because of he doesn’t have customers, but he has two very helpful staffs. The price is reasonable, duck rice cost you about RM4.00 and duck rice+char siew rice cost you RM4.50. It’s worth it, for this kind of best food. If I’m not mistaken, the stall opens from 11.00a.m until it finishes. My lunch time is 1.00pm and I saw there was still alot of duck hang on the stall. While Kun Kee Kopitiam closed on every Monday. It’s same row with the Choong Kee Kampar Claypot Chicken Rice Restaurant.

Prices :
RM4.00 – Duck Rice / Chicken Rice / Char Siew Rice
RM4.50 – Mixed any 2 of them

Business Hour :
Not very sure, should be 11.00a.m until it finishes.

Recently I was too busy with my personal stuff and didn’t have time to update my food blog, it’s because I’ve to help my gf’s brother in his wedding. I became his “brother” on last Sunday morning, it was quite fun and I enjoyed it.

Weeks ago, I had my tea time at Sushi Zanmai in One-Utama. Sushi Zanmai and Pasta Zanmai is the same restaurant but they separate to two, Sushi Zanmai sells Sushi, while Pasta Zanmai sells Pasta. I’ve dined in Pasta Zanmai for few times before, I love their Chicken Cheesy Pasta and Teri Chicken Pizza. So, I went to Sushi Zanmai for my tea break, we’d tried some of the Sushi only. They have other outlets in The Gardens and Sunway Pyramid as well.

* Una Tama, Inari & Tuna Salad – I simply like the Una Tama, it consists of unagi & Omelette. The Inari Sushi consists of sweet beancurd, not too sweet and quite nice.

* FutoMaki – It consists of pickled radish, omelettle & cucumber. All the ingredients are fresh.

* Chicken Gyoza – It’s pan-seared chicken & vegetable dumpling. You can actually get this dishes from other restaurant such as Hong Kong Restaurant, the price is cheaper than this. I can even get it in Ming Tien Hawker Center.

* Salmon Salad Maki – I didn’t have it, my gf’s sister ordered it. But the outlook seems nice, should be nice to eat.

* California Roll – It consists of avocado, crab meat & omelette with smelt roe. My gf ordered it. She said all the ingredients are fresh and it’s delicious.

* Wet Tissue which has their logo and name.

* Menu

* This is the thing that I wanna show you, it’s located at the last page of the menu. It stated “Actual food presentation may differ from picture“. I just want to say that they’re actually very honest about it, all the foods served were really different from the pictures, all the foods served were smaller than the pictures.

* There is many types of sushi for your choices.

* Just a shot from the menu.

They have variety of sushi and dishes, we were just trying their sushi as our tea break. It was just okay, but you can have a try over there as well. The price is slightly cheaper than other Japanese Restaurant, but the price is equal to the size of foods. So, have you dined in Sushi Zanmai before?

I have been eating Pan Mee in Bao Bao Pan Mee Restaurant for quite many times, I have yet to take some photos for the food because I had no digital camera in the past. The previous time I wrote a review for this restaurant because I got featured in the 8TV Ho Chak!, we were so shock to see them there while we stepped in the restaurant, it was a good memory.

The Bao Bao Pan Mee Restaurant is managed by a few youngsters, they have an outlet in Cheras too. With the slogan of ‘Same Pan Mee, but different style“, it attracts lots of pan mee lover to try all their different style of pan mee. Not to mention too much about the restaurant since I have stated it in my previous post, we just go on the photos and food reviews.

* Pan Mee Soup – My girlfriend used to eat it everytimes we dined over there. The soup is luscious, I like the soup. The Pan Mee soup consists of Q-Pan Mee vegetable, 2 meat balls and special crunchy fried fish crumbs. Without the crunchy fried fish crumbs, the pan mee is just nothing for me.

* Dry Pan Mee – I used to eat Dry Pan Mee, the taste is really good! Especially with the crunchy fried fish crumbs, I love it so much. Dry Pan Mee consists of Q-Pan Mee, vegetables, 2 meat balls, Char Siew and crunchy fried fish crumbs. It has a awesome combination.

* Crunchy Fried Fish Crumbs – Since it’s so delicious to be eaten, of course we have to order a small bowl of it. It’s crispy but sometimes it’s not if you’re unlucky. Usually we mix it into our Pan Mee if we have finished the crunchy fried fish crumbs in our bowl. Mix it and enjoy it.

* Chili Sauce – They have 4 types of own made Chili sauce which are sambal, little sourish(The spiciest sauce), 2 types of cili padi (one is normal and another one is mixing with soy sauce).

* Sambal – I used to take this sambal sauce and mix it with some soy sauce. I can’t eat the pan mee without this, I like it so much.

* Ice Honey Lemon – We used to drink it, this is the famous drinks in Bao Bao Pan Mee Restaurant. They have changed the glass and look nicer. A nice and recommended drinks!

* They have 4 styles of ingredients for pan mee and 3 types of noodles.
4 styles of ingredients : Traditional Soup (Dried meat floss, ikan bilis, vegetables and mushroom), Special Dry (Crunchy Fried Fish Crumbs, Char Siew, Meat Ball and Begetable), Special Soup (Crunchy Fried Fish Crumbs, Char Siew, Meat Ball and Begetable) and Spicy Garlic Pan Mee (Dried Meat Floss, Meat Ball, Garlic and Crunchy Fried Fish Crumbs).
3 types of noodles : Thin noodles, thick noodles and twist noodles.

The price for the pan mee is quite reasonable, which is RM5.50 for a large bowl and RM4.80 for a small bowl. The crispy crunchy fried fish crumbs just cost RM3.00 for a bowl. Honey lemon cost RM3.00 for a glass. The price is quite reasonable, it’s recommended.

TOTAL : RM18.60 for 2 persons
